Send WooCommerce order updates on WhatsApp and answer customer questions automatically. Your own Meta account, no middleman, no monthly fee.

== Description ==

CodeBold Conversations sends your customers a WhatsApp message when their
order is confirmed, shipped, delivered, cancelled or refunded, and answers
their questions about it automatically.

It connects your store straight to your own Meta WhatsApp Cloud API account.
There is no middleman service, no monthly fee to us, and no per-message
markup. Meta bills you directly for what you send, at their published rates.

= What it does =

* Sends order updates automatically when an order changes status
* Answers "where is my order" with the real status, items and tracking number
* Confirms or cancels cash on delivery orders, restoring stock when cancelled
* Shares your store address, hours and phone number on request
* Passes anything it should not decide to a human, and stays quiet afterwards
* Records every message and what it cost, so your bill is never a surprise

= Everything here is free =

There is no paid tier inside this plugin. No feature is locked, limited,
trialled or gated. Every part of it works forever without paying us anything.

= Your customers' privacy =

Nobody can ask this plugin about an order unless they can prove the order is
theirs. If your customer's phone number is not already on the order, they are
asked for the order number and the delivery pincode before anything is shared.
Wrong answers all get the same reply, so the plugin cannot be used to find out
which order numbers exist.

Customers can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP. That is honoured
immediately, recorded, and cannot be overridden by any other setting.

= Built for Indian shared hosting =

Nothing is sent during checkout or during a page load, so a slow connection to
Meta can never slow your shop down or duplicate an order. Everything queues in
the background and survives a host that kills long requests.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API to send order
notifications and to receive customer replies. This connection is only made
after you enter your own Meta credentials in the plugin settings. No data is
sent anywhere before that.

**Service:** Meta WhatsApp Cloud API (`https://graph.facebook.com`)

**What is sent:** the customer's phone number, their name as entered at
checkout, and the order details included in the message you have chosen to
send (order number, order date, total, tracking number, delivery estimate).
Messages you receive from customers are sent to your own site by Meta.

**When:** when a WooCommerce order changes status and you have enabled a
notification for that status; when a customer messages your WhatsApp number;
and when the plugin checks the status of your message templates.

**Provider:** Meta Platforms, Inc.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin. WooCommerce must already be active.
2. Go to CodeBold Conversations in your admin menu.
3. Leave Test mode switched on while you set everything up.
4. Follow the setup guide to create a Meta business account and app.
5. Paste in your Phone Number ID, Business Account ID, App Secret and Access
   Token, then press Test connection.
6. Copy the Callback URL and Verify token into your Meta app's webhook
   settings, and tick `messages` and `message_template_status_update`.
7. Submit your message templates and wait for Meta to approve them.
8. Place a test order using your own phone number.
9. Only then switch Test mode off.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a separate phone number? =

Yes. It must be a number that is not already registered on WhatsApp or
WhatsApp Business. If your shop number is already in use, you would have to
delete that account first, which permanently erases those chats. Most shops buy
a new SIM for this instead.

= What does it cost? =

Nothing to us. Meta charges you directly for each message, in rupees, against
your own account. Order notifications are charged as utility messages. Check
Meta's current pricing page for the rate in your market, as they adjust it.

= Why is nothing sending? =

Check the Health section on the settings screen. It will tell you if Test mode
is on, if your credentials have not been tested, if a template has not been
approved by Meta, or if background tasks are not running on your host.

= My notifications stopped overnight =

Almost always the access token. If you used the temporary token from the Meta
dashboard it stops working after 24 hours. Create a permanent System User token
instead. The Health section will say so if this is what happened.

= Will it message all my old customers when I install it? =

No. Orders placed before you installed the plugin are ignored completely, no
matter how they change afterwards.

== Screenshots ==

1. The settings screen. The health panel at the top tells you whether anything
   needs your attention, including whether test mode is still on, whether Meta
   has approved your templates, and when a customer last messaged you.
2. The message log. Every message sent and received, what happened to it, and
   what Meta charged for it.
